With over 18-years of extpertise in foam machinery production, Alemo has developed a state of the art foam extrusion line equiped with an advanced control system, This system continuously records all key production data – including raw material dosing, recipe mixtures, gas dosing, extrusion process parameters, downstream cooling and sheet collection – on a single integrated platform. All the collected data are securely stored in encrypted databases with tiered access levels, ensuring that only authorized personnel can view or manage it.
Designed to be Industry 5.0 ready, the extrusion line is being enchanced with an AI-powered operator assistant, currently in development, that will help optimize, minimize waste, and further reduce CO2, emissions through smarter process control.

ALEMO FOAMTRACK (TM) – 3RD Level of Automation Pyramid:

ALEMO supervision and data acquisition control system was developed as a primary database with the store of all foaming data which gives foam producers an opportunity for:
• Collection of all foaming process data
• Product history database
• Recipe management
• Product tracking system. Possibility to track back exact process parameters and recipes for eventual defective products or for top-quality products for every single product/roll.
• Parameters visualisation and reports for each roll or product lot

THE CONTROL SYSTEM IS EQUIPPED WITH SEVERAL SMART FUNCTIONS – 4TH Level of Automation Pyramid:

AUTO PRE-HEATING FUNCTION
This function allows to program a gradual heating curve of heaters to prevent overheating, extend their longevity and setting the most time- efficient and uniform pre-heating of the entire machine. Pre-heating can be programmed starting with just the head and then with other parts to save energy.

AUTO START FUNCTION
The extruder automatically follows a pre-selected gradual process stages of melt heating and mixing till reaching production process parameters. Also the heating of extruder’s head is programmed to automatically bring the melt to the pre-selected temperature. At that point the operator may start the machine with an automatic programmable program to reach the extrusion process conditions in shortest time possible with minimum raw-material waste.

PRODUCT RECIPE CHANGE FUNCTION
This is a smart automatic product change process which makes transition between recipes fluent and reduces scrap production.

AUTO STOP FUNCTION
This function allows to perform the correct steps of safe shut-down or to put the extruder in stand-by position, to prevent eventual dangerous situations during die-change, when the extruder is on stand by  position.

AUTO FILTER CHANGE FUNCTION
The extruder’s control system automatically performs the filter change at optimal time without foam breaking.

NETWORK FUNCTION
This function was developed for larger companies with several foam extruders located in different places or countries. It allows the possibility to share or exchange production and process data for all product recipes stored on specific extruder. In this way, the know-how from one production site/extrusion line, can be shared with all in the network. The best recipes and optimal process parameters for each type of product can be exchanged among factories with ALEMO extruders.
