ALEMO EXT89-XPS-COR-MAX XPS Profile Extrusion Line
The ALEMO EXT89-XPS-COR-MAX XPS foam profile and cornices extrusion line is designed to produce foam profiles in various shapes. The production process used is hot extrusion.
The profile extrusion process is primarily characterized by the continuous mixing of a blowing agent (CO2) into the molten polymer. The mixture of the various components is prepared in a mixer. It is then transported to a dosing device, which feeds the mixture into the XPS extruder.
The mixture is heated to the melting point of polystyrene. Next, CO2 is added to the molten polymer mixture to act as a blowing agent. This is necessary for the production of extruded rigid foam.
The resulting mixture of polymer and gas is further mixed and cooled using special cooling units. These units are designed to operate at high pressures. The mixture is then forced through special dies to achieve the desired profile shape.
The extrusion machine head is designed as an option for the XPS production line with either a single-flow or dual-flow profile. After the foam is extruded, the profile is guided through a mandrel to give it its final shape. The profile is then cooled to maintain the desired shape and dimensions of the XPS product.
Before cutting, the profile is labeled by an in-line printing unit. The foam profile is cut with millimeter precision by an automatic cutter to the desired length. Finally, it is transported to a designated packaging area.
ALEMO offers superior technology for XPS products with high-quality geometry, shape, and flat surfaces.
ALEMO’s extrusion machine technology, including the ALEMO EXT89-XPS-COR-MAX, also features a quick die change system. It allows for die and product changes in just a few seconds, without stopping the XPS extruder. This solution gives ALEMO customers a significant competitive advantage. This translates into reduced production time, lower raw material consumption, and lower overall production costs.
ALEMO also supports customers with a wide range of die development options tailored to customer requests and designs.
ALEMO extrusion machines produce XPS profiles that are the lightest products on the market. This means the minimum amount of raw material used per linear meter of profile.
